Dear Claypit Caregivers,
Once everything in nature turns green, the lives of elementary school parents goes into turbo mode. Between spring sports and school activities it may seem like you’re not sure if you are coming or going! The race to the end of the school year is not for the faint of heart.
This being said, we do have some lovely events in the coming week to highlight.
- On Friday night at 6 PM we’ll be bringing back MOVIE NIGHT. Our Student Council selected Zootopia as our featured film. This is a great opportunity to come and socialize with other parents and the ability to order pizza means you can take the night off from cooking! We’ll be there and hope that many of you can join us.
- On Sunday, we’ll be celebrating cultures from around the globe at WAYLAND’s WORLD FAIR. This event, hosted by Loker School will be held from 2-4. We hope to see you there as we enjoy food, music, dance, crafts and games from around the world.
- Finally, the Claypit SPRING BOOK FAIR will be running from Monday to Friday next week. As an extra added bonus you can shop the book fair at Friday night’s Movie Night. Think about setting a summer reading goal for your children and select a book or two together to kick off their reading adventures.
The truth of the matter is that it is really hard as a family to do it all. Please know how grateful we are when we are able to see you at school events. We certainly appreciate the time you dedicate to building community with us.
Despite the hustle and bustle, we hope you enjoy these days. They are fleeting and are filled with joy when we slow just a bit and take it all in! You’ve got this! And so do we!
Sincerely,
Marie, Kate, and Naomi

Your feedback is essential for us to understand what is working well and what we can work to improve as we plan for next year. Thank you for taking time to respond by Friday, May 22.

The spring book fair is scheduled for May 18-22!
We need volunteers to help us staff the fair! Please consider signing up for a timeslot here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F044AADAD2BABFD0-63865016-book. If the sign-up is already full, you are still welcome to come and shop with your kids during their book fair time slot. Parents can send in cash or a check (made out to Wayland Public Schools PTO) with their child to spend at the book fair. Please contact your child’s teacher or Ms. Brigham if a book fair scholarship would be helpful.
Our book fair will be run by Fantastic Book Fairs, an independent bookstore. Families can choose to donate funds here to a teacher, the library or TAs/reading specialists so they can buy books through the fair. Any donation is appreciated!
Feel free to reach out to Lauren Grant (quinn.lauren@gmail.com) or Courtney Marzilli (courtneymarzilli@gmail.com) with any questions.

Claypit Hill collects donations throughout the year to support local families through My Brother’s Table food pantry. Watch for suggested donations each month, and consider picking up a few items to contribute when you’re at the grocery store. There is a donation bin at the Claypit Hill entrance, which is an easy spot for kids or families to drop-off donations as they enter the school.
