Week of September 15

We want to extend a sincere thanks to our incredible staff for Monday's staff meeting. Our skillful Central Office administrators often coach us towards having candid conversations with staff in a way that positions ourselves as listeners and learners who are curious. Practicing with 70 staff members...whoa! Thank you for extending extraordinary grace while we navigated a truly tricky conversation. We're hopeful that you came away from our conversation with the following big ideas:
  • We expect that you will take excellent care of yourselves and your family members when you're/they're sick. No guilt!
  • We hope that when you are well, you will come to school. Our school community is stronger when you are here and we are much better positioned to serve our students when staff is present.
We are grateful for your professionalism and the kindness you extended us as we facilitated this conversation. We hope that your trust in us is intact. Our respect for our staff is unwavering.

We are looking forward to next week when we'll tackle another five days in a row. Please enjoy the weekend, your families, and your friends. You deserve all the best.

Sincerely,
Marie, Kate, and Naomi

Curriculum Night

We have scored the desirable Thursday night for our Curriculum night. All three elementary schools will have Curriculum Night on the same night. What is FANTASTIC about this is that we can offer a bus from Boston to Wayland for elementary caregivers. There will be a "green room'" complete with refreshments for Boston parents to hang in between sessions or during a portion of the night should they not have children in that grade span. Stay tuned for details.

Thursday, September 25, 2025
K - 2: 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
3 - 5: 7:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

Mentor/Mentee Program

Thank you to all of the staff members who quickly jumped at the chance to mentor one of our new Boston resident students. We are grateful for the care and time you'll extend to your mentee. Jackie and DeVaughn share the below list so that all educators are aware of our pairings. Educators should feel free to reach out to mentors to share good news from the classroom or to engage the mentor in problem solving, too. A big thanks to Jackie and DeVaughn for leading this charge again this year.

PLCs Begin this Week

PLCs will start the week of September 15th. Kate and/or Marie will join just as often as we can for at least part of the time.

For those providing coverage during PLCs, please arrive on time.

For TAs providing PLC coverage, know that car pick up students can be dismissed to the office at 2:25 so that you may leave at your contractual end-of-day.

Support for our friend, Meg

Dear Staff,
As many of you may know, our now retired colleague, Meg Haydon, recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of her 29-year-old son, Garrett. Our school family would like to come together to show her our love and support during this unimaginably difficult time.

We are collecting donations toward this group gift to remind her that she is surrounded by care and compassion from her school community. If you would like to contribute, please reach out to Donna Keane in rm 104 by Friday 9-19.  No amount is too small—what matters most is showing her and her family our support.

I will have a card for you to sign (your name only) in 104.

Thank you for helping us come together in kindness for the Haydon’s.

~Donna

Coaching Opportunities

Middle School girls basketball head coach
High School boys varsity basketball head coach
High School boys varsity basketball assistant coach
High School girls JV basetball head coach

Please let him know if you or someone your know is interested in a position.

Field Trips

Please schedule all field trips by February 1st again this year. Also, please book field trips and plan for transportation two months out. Making plans with less time than this can be stressful on the office and can make planning that needs to be done around transportation and health/safety very difficult. We will work to finalize an MCAS schedule as soon as possible so that spring trips can be planned. While we completely understand the appeal of a June trip, transportation and nursing demands may limit the number of trips we can accommodate in June.
